Spoon’s career in music started at 16 when he worked at Jelly’s Music Store in Aiea, HI (tough life!). He hocked records during high school before moving on to the University of Arizona where he studied psychology and theater.

Having no real skill in anything whatsoever, Spoon decided radio might be the job for him (after all, he can usually complete a sentence on a good day). Spoon interned with the KRQQ morning show in Tucson, AZ until it became syndicated on KZZP in Phoenix.

Soon after, Spoon moved to Phoenix where he met his wife Melanie. They were married in 2007 before making the trek to Atlanta where he became Cindy & Ray’s producer on Star 94.

No, it is not a metaphor of some kind.  It is actually what I will be doing this Thursday.  I am soooooooo excited!   Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Rob Arnold who is the owner of Atlanta Scuba.  He is THE MAN!   This past weekend, Rob got me certified as a scuba diver and it is one of the coolest things I have ever done.

If you have never done it, you have to!  There is no greater peace than you will feel that you feel being below the water.  No cell phones, emails, screaming kids, no anything except peace.  I love it.

So since I am certified now to be a scuba diver, I will be going to swim with the whale sharks and all the other sharks at the Georgia Aquarium this Thursday.   I'm not gonna lie, it is a little frightening but I have been there ...
