JJ was born and raised in Toledo Ohio on a diet of Tony Pacos world famous hot dogs. As a kid JJ opted to record "comedy" tapes on his boombox while he was supposed to be doing homework (good thing Youtube wasn't around yet!). JJ went to the University of Toledo where a Radio/Telvision course landed him his first overnight DJ gig.

Over the next 10 years JJ worked as a Program Direct and DJ in Toledo, Cleveland and Richmond VA. Throughout his radio career, JJ was fortunate to make a lot of contacts in the record industry and ended up doing promotions for various record labels. Radio has always been his first passion, so JJ jumped at the chance to work at the "world famous" Star 94.
