Winter Storm Warning continues for some north metro counties, freezing rain still an issue

A Winter Storm Warning continues for Pickens, Dawson, Forsyth and Hall counties in north Metro Atlanta until 6 p.m. Other counties in the warning area include Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Lumpkin, White, Banks and Jackson. Up to a quarter-inch of ice could accumulate, especially on power lines and trees.
A Freezing Rain Advisory has been extended for Cherokee, North Fulton, Gwinnett, Barrow, DeKalb and Walton counties until 6 p.m. Also included are Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Wilkes counties. Watch for black ice on bridges and overpasses.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the North Georgia Mountains until 11 p.m. The area along and north of I-85 could see minor sleet accumulations along with up to one tenth of an inch of ice.
