WATCH: Diane Sawyer signs off as anchor of ABC's 'World News' (VIDEO)

Diane Sawyer signed off as anchor of ABC's "World News" last night, telling viewers it was great to be what she calls the "home port" of the network's news team.

Sawyer leaves the anchor's desk as one of TV news best-known and well-liked personalities — after taking the helm at the alphabet network's nightly newscast since December, 2009. She'll be replaced by David Muir.

Sawyer won't be retiring, though. She says she'll still report for ABC — competing for big-time interviews, or "gets," as they're known in the business.
