A parent in North Carolina was so moved by the death of Cooper Harris that he decided to do an experiment.
Terry Bartley has three kids ages 4, 7 and 14. He wanted to know what it would be like to sit in a hot car. So, he made a video and posted it to YouTube.
Terry says he sat in the car for about ten minutes before shooting the video. He said it was a close to 90-degrees in Raleigh, NC the day he did it.
Terry says it took him about 20 minutes to make it. He said it heated up very quickly in the car. He said he felt dehydrated when he got out, and he could only imagine what a child strapped in a car seat all day must feel like.
He feels this keeps happening because parents think it won't happen to them or to their child.
He also says technology is to blame. He says parents are so busy on their smartphones, and gadgets, that they're just not paying attention to their kids.
