Gotta Go Hair: Polished Curls In Under 10 Minutes
So, I saw this on Pinterest yesterday, and was like, "Yeah RIGHT! No WAY can this work!" But I'm a dreamer, so I decided to try it out this morning and I have to say...I'm pretty impressed with the results!
If you have lots of hair, or layers (I have both) then go for 6 sections and plan for touch-ups on layer pieces that will slip out of the curling iron. I was able to get my hair done in record time and it's holding up so far...I just took this pic (left) of my hair about 4 hours into the day.
If you over slept, or just need to pull yoursefl together fast, this is a good "go-to." Start with dry hair:
1- Divide and clip hair into 4 sections: 2 sections on the top of your crown, 2 sections from the nape of your neck.
2- Using a 1 or 1 1/4" barrel curling iron, start with the bottom sections, grab ALL the hair from 1 section and clamp curling iron at the middle of your hair.
3- Gently, pull the iron down to the ends and roll your hair around the barrel, keeping the barrel vertical (straight up and down). Hold for 10 sec.(vary hold time for your hair type)
4- Release the curl, but DON't touch it!...Don't pull it, separate it, nada! Just let it lie there while you curl the other sections.
5- After you've curled all sections, check for any strands that made need touching up. All the while leaving the curls untouched.
6- When you've fineshed curling, spray all over with a light to medium hold hairspray and let the hairspray dry while you slap some coverup, blush and mascara on your face.
Then, as you RUN out the door, comb your fingers through your hair to break up the curls for a lovely bouncy do...Just don’t forget to unplug the curling iron! Here's original Pinterest link so you can see the visual aid/ get more details. (The Beauty Department)

Summer-fy Your Makeup To Avoid A Meltdown
Every Atlanta lady has said at least once during the summer, "I don't even know why I bothered putting make-up on today..." Here are a few expert tips to keep your makeup on the intended parts of your face:
1. Prevent Raccoon Eyes- Put on a coat of your regular mascara first, THEN a coat of waterproof mascara. This locks it on but keeps removal easy.
2. Layer Your Blush- Pat on a cream blush, then lightly dust on a powder blush in a similar shade for color that lasts all day.
3. Brush On Base - Using fingers to put on makeup adds oils to your skin, which mix with oils in your makeup making it dissolve and slide off. Use a sponge or foundation brush to avoid extra oils during the summer months.
4. Stay-On Shadow- Like blush, Layering creams and powders can help eye shadow stay put. Apply a cream formula first, then top with a powder.
5. Lock In Concealer- Dusting on translucent powder is the best way to set makeup, but not around the eyes because it can settle into, and accentuate fine lines. Use a concealer brush to dot a mattifier (Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Transparent Mattifier) over your concealer to absorb oils that cause concealer to melt and crease. An Alternative to Craigslist- Emma!
If you've ever searched Craigslist for a second-hand desk for the basement, or to sell your old washer/dryer, then you're familiar with the hundreds of possible returns consisting of superfluous information, along with the occasional post of questionable nature. Craigslist is still a viable online resource for buying and selling your old stuff, but many companies are jumping on board, and improving the quality, of online listing services... including the new app/site Emma.
Emma simplifies classified searching because it starts by accessing your own social network on Facebook. Whatever you're looking for (a desk, washer/dryer, changing table) it's possible you'll find it in your circle of friends! By logging in with your Facebook account, you can search categories of classifieds, or post something yourself. Every Emma member is verified through Facebook, so even though you may end up dealing with a stranger, you'll still have a lot more info on the person from the start. The site is new, so the amount of classifieds is lower...but sometimes a girl just needs her options, right?! Read more about Emma (Cool Mom Tech)
