Helloooooooo!

Busy busy week so far. My daughter Lily is turning five tomorrow and we are trying to get ready for her Birthday party this weekend. We are keeping it very low-key this year and just having a few of our close friends over to the house for some cake and a pinata. Yes, she INSISTED on a pinata! lol At first she said she wanted a Princess party so we went to Party City to get princess stuff but she ended up picking out a Unicorn pinata and then Cinderella decorations. PS...Party City is having a Mack daddy sale on paper goods. Yay! So anyway, Eric and I spent the weekend running errands as well as getting the house all tidied up.

Eric and I also went on a date to see Twilight/Eclipse at the new Studio Movie Grill on Holcomb Bridge which was very fun. We haven't had a date night in sooooo long and it was so much fun to have dinner and a movie at the same time. Awesome! We had a great weekend full of laughter.

Sunday we did our favorite Sunday morning thing...coffee and Buckhead Church. There was a guest speaker last weekend from South Africa. Great to listen to him speak. Good message and what a cool unique accent too. Had an afternoon full of errands...Target, Costco, and of course Menchies which was delish. I can't wait for the Toco Hills location to open...much closer to us!!

I found out that I made it into the TOP 100 for Regis and Kelly's search for Women In Radio Co-host. I am so excited. Whoever said it's better to win than being nominated is not entirely right because I am WAY excited right now. :o) I keep thinking how much fun it would be there sitting next to Reege. hee hee I think it would be the most wonderful thing ever!!! How long do you think it would take to get to NYC on my new Pink Buddy Scooter? hee hee Click here for Regis and Cindy info!

Eric and I went to Bernadette's Hair Salon and Wig Gallery last weekend to try on my new wig. It was cool that he came with me since he is going to have to be looking at me the most. lol He really LOVED it too. He is an amazing and kind man for being so supportive through this whole thing. Oh and I got a cool one to wear with a hat too. I am thinking I definitely want to have some varieties. Rebecca was so helpful again and we laughed with the her the whole time we were there. That's a nice thing to do when you are talking about losing your hair. Thanks Rebecca! And speaking of hair, I have started losing a little hair right now and I was a little sad thinking about it at first but now I am ready. Way ready for it to happen...it's just hair right? Like when I was waiting to start chemo, the anxiety of it happening is WAY worse. That's for sure! Speaking of CH...this week is round two. I will be blogging and everything from there so I'll let you know how it's going. Thank you guys for being so very supportive along this journey...it means alot and it really helps!! Thank you! Thank you Thank you!

Have a great week peeps!
Smooooooooooooches!

You are right Cindy. Hair is only hair, and it will grow back! When you get to the other side of this, you will be such a stronger & better person, & realize material things don't matter (my husband has bladder cancer & we are going on the 3rd year of procedures, surgies, & treatments!) You are awesome & I am so glad your are sharing your cancer so openly!

Hang in there. You are strong and courageous! You will kick this in the butt and pull through with flying colors. You have no idea how your journey is helping tons of other people be strong themselves!

CINDY, WE JUST RECENTLY LOST MY MOTHER IN LAW IN FEBRUARY WITH OVARIAN CANCER, YOU REMIND ME OF HER BECAUSE YOU GET UP EVERYDAY NOT KNOWING AND YOU GO TO WORK NOT KNOWING AND YOU ARE STRONG FOR LILLY. SHE WAS THAT WAY EVERYDAY FOR US SHE WAS THE ROCK OF THE FAMILY. THERE WERE ONLY TWO LADIES THAT I THOUGHT WERE THE STRONGEST PEOPLE THAT HAVE TOUCHED MY LIFE DURING THEIR PAIN AND WEEKENESS, LINDA MY MOTHER IN LAW AND MY AUNT WHO PASSED WITH BREAST CANCER. YOU CAUGHT MY EAR LISTENING TO YOU DAILY ON THE RADIO AND YOU INSPIRE PEOPLE TO CONTINUE WITH LIFE BECAUSE IT IS TO SHORT. YOU ARE NOW ADDED TO MY LIST OF THE STRONGEST WOMEN THAT I KNOW. THANK YOU FOR GETTING UP EVERYDAY, YOU WEAR THAT WIG WITH PRIDE AND YOU LET LILLY KNOW THAT HER MOMMY IS BEING PRAYED FOR EVERYDAY. I HOPE YOU WIN THAT TRIP TO NY!!

Cindy, I wanted also to personally thank you for publicly posting your experiences through this journey. I am on the exact same one, and it is so inspiring to see that "if she can do it with such grace, strength, and humor, I can too". I start my treatments this morning so I'm just one step behind you. A little scared as I'm sure everyone is at first, and I will be thinking happy thoughts of you, your precious Lilly, and my husband and kids while I'm sitting there. Together we can do this!!

Cindy, you have to get the book No More Bad Hair Days by Susan Hyde. It is full of short quips about the whole experience and helps by making you laugh!!!

Cindy, thanks for letting us be a part of this journey with you. Your willingness to be so open and honest about your experience will make it that much easier for other women to follow your wonderful example. I really hope that we can all tune in and watch you hosting with Reege. That would be so great! Good Luck! I also can not believe that little Lilly is turning 5. I can still remember listening to the show the day that you told us you were expecting her. Time does Fly!
