Our "FIRST DANCE" Video (Hall & Oats "You Make My Dreams")
Since Eric and I didn't have a wedding "song", we didn't know exactly what we would do for our first dance. So my lovely and sweet friend Heather Branch told me about one of her favorite movies (500) Days of Summer. She said I would love it because there is a fun dance sequence in the movie to a song by one of mine and Eric's favorite old school bands Hall & Oats. She suggested a flash mob style dance as our first dance, so we did. We grabbed some friends and thanks to our wonderfully talented dance instructor Michelle at Firefly Dance Studio in Decatur, we had our first dance! All I can really say is...BEST.DAY.EVER!
From start to finish, Saturday Dec 3, 2011 will go down in my memory as one of the most enjoyable days of my life. SO many wonderful people made this day happen and we are so grateful for every part of it. I feel like we have about a million thank you's!
It started with going with my Momma Jane, my Maid of Honor Valerie and my daughter Lily to Vis-A-Vis The Salon to get our hair and make up done. What a wonderful girl bonding experience. Since I wasn't planning on wearing a veil, I wanted to find something pretty and vintage to wear in my hair to go nicely with my mom's wedding dress that I wore on Saturday. Ahhhhh, the week of the wedding. A time of excitement, nerves, friends and family gathering for your big day and a BIOPSY???

I had pondered whether to write this blog because this whole thing is obviously scary and uncomfortable but then I thought more about it and decided that since I went through the whole Breast Cancer journey being open and honest, why not be open and honest about this?
So here's the deal. I recently went in for a uterus ultrasound. While I was there the Dr. found something on my uterus and has ordered a Biopsy. I have since learned that this is a fairly common thing and this happens to many women. HOWEVER, when you are a Cancer Survivor and you hear the word Biopsy AND your mom had uterine cancer, I will let you know it doesn't feel so common...not at all. Plus, ...

Because I have not. Actally, I have never even been to Europe.
I have always wanted to go to Paris. It just seems like one of the most romantic places in the world. Yes, even more so thanks to Carrie Bradshaw and Sex & The City!!! But as far as a Honeymoon, Eric and I already had a family trip planned for a few days after the wedding long before we were engaged, so we decided initially to make that our Honeymoon. It will be sweet though because Lily will be with us and we are excited to spend that time with her. So we are.
