Blog #13 WELCOME LUNA JAMES
Monday, October 29, 2012 5:50 PM
My second daughter Luna James was born at 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 inches. I often wondered how it would feel to have another child. How do you have enough room to love more than one when up until this point you thought that one you already had occupied every square inch of your heart. Well, God has done such a good job making this absolutely possible, because I am so in LOVE with this little girl and even more in love with my sweet Lily than ever before.
I didn't sleep a wink last Sunday night. Luna was due that day and because of my Gestational Diabetes (G.D.), I knew that if she didn't arrive Sunday, that I would have to be induced Monday. For someone who is a big fan of "planning", I thought I would be over-joyed at this thought but no, it gave me anxiety instead and I ended up being awake most of Sunday night. Kind of like the night before Christmas when you are a child.
I delivered at Northside Hospital again because I had such a lovely experience the first time and this second time was no different. The nurses go above and beyond and have hearts of gold. My Doctor, Dr Anand who I have been going to for almost ten years was made me so excited when I found out she was going to be able to deliver Luna since she wasn't on call when Lily was born.
5:50 Monday October 29th arrived with my special little present. Luna James. We all expected her to be a little bigger because of how she was weighing in at my recent G.D. ultrasound appts but it turns out in every measurement she was almost spot on to Lily's measurements. Sisters from the start! ;o)
I have so many other thoughts and things I would like to share about this whole wonderful experience but as I am sure you understand, I haven't slept in days and I need to run and try and do that right now while little Lu is sleeping. More soon, I promise. On a final note, thanks to all of you who have posted on my Facebook, Twitter etc and sent well wishes. Having our Morning Show listeners feel be like our family is one of the reasons I love my job so much. Your kindness, thoughtfulness and sweet words are an absolute Blessing, thank you.
Ok, off to baby land. Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween and are enjoying the Fall weather. Thanks to Producer Casey, my bestie Heather Branch, Rob Stadler and Ali Mac for holding down the Star 94 Morning fort without me. Also, thanks to the wonderful Engineering Dept at STAR 94, I will be able to be back on the show soon enough while still being able to be at home with my Luna. Yay for technology!
Until then...
