Brace yourselves for...time change!

With the fun of Halloween comes these two words: “Time change.” And, more specifically, “fall back.” Words that used to signal the sweet simplicity of an extra hour of sleep. And now? Not so much. The definition of daylight savings time has morphed into a week-long switch up of our kids’ schedules. Babies begin waking at 5AM for no apparent reason. Kids are zonked by 6:30 in the evening and you can’t figure out why until you realize their body clocks are still telling them it’s an hour later. It’s enough to madden any mommy.

We feel ya, sisters. Here’s a little bright side:
- There’s something romantic about waking up at 6:30AM with the moon still shining outside.
- Mornings have been a little easier this week since everyone seems to be waking an hour earlier than before.
- The “Why do I have to go to bed? It’s still light out!” complaints disappear when it’s pitch dark by dinnertime.
- And the best news of all, my STAR94 Mom Partner-in-Blogging informs me that when the kids get a little older, they’ll hardly notice the time change at all.
