My second daughter Luna James was born at 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 inches. I often wondered how it would feel to have another child. How do you have enough room to love more than one when up until this point you thought that one you already had occupied every square inch of your heart. Well, God has done such a good job making this absolutely possible, because I am so in LOVE with this little girl and even more in love with my sweet Lily than ever before.

I didn't sleep a wink last Sunday night. Luna was due that day and because of my Gestational Diabetes (G.D.), I knew that if she didn't arrive Sunday, that I would have to be induced Monday. For someone who is a big fan of "planning", I thought I would be over-joyed at ...

BABY BLOG #12 Which one is better????

So, I am into the home stretch of pregnancy now as I will be 36 weeks this weekend. Crazy how time flies when you are pregnant. Ok, not really (lol) but I am definitely excited and ready to meet this new baby girl Luna James. I can't say it has been the easiest pregnancy but honestly, it doesn't matter because the end result is such a wonderful miracle it is worth every single minute! I went to the Doctor yesterday and she is at six pounds and looking good. I feel that I am pretty close to being prepared at home too. We still have a bunch of necessity items to get but we are going to try and tackle that this weekend. One thing I can say that we don't need are clothes! Our wonderful friends and family have definitely made sure Luna is going to be one ...

BABY BLOG #11 My Baby Shower!

I was fortunate to have a Baby Shower for Luna James this past weekend. It was such a lovely lovely day. Some of my favorite girls, Alisa, Jenn, Heather Branch and her mom Gail, got together and planned a really beautiful party. My mom has been in town visiting this month so I was pretty happy that she was able to be here. The girls who came, well, I just adore all of them and they all have such kind and generous hearts. We had a Mexican feast at La Paz Restaurant in Vinings so that means I got to stuff my face with jalapeno poppers. SO yummy! The whole place was decorated in bright pinks and yellows and it looked amazing. Heather has CLEARLY learned alot from Pinterest because her decorations were fabulous! (Whoever says Pinterest is a waste of time is soooo wrong-lol) There were also bright ...

BABY BLOG #10 Did you have GESTATIONAL DIABETES?

Did you have GESTATIONAL DIABETES? So, last week at 28 weeks into my pregnancy, I went for my pregnancy glucose test and didn't pass. I then had to return the office a few days later to take the fasting three hour glucose test. That was a littttttle more difficult considering you have to fast starting at midnight the evening before. Being that I get up at 4am because I work mornings, my eating stopped at 9pm so it made the following morning a tad bit challenging. My poor coworkers, (lol) pregnant and hunger do NOT go together! Anyway, I didn't really know what to expect at this three hour test except for hunger pains. :o) It seems that you get your finger pricked three times during these three tests and it turns out I failed two out of the three tests so I was given the gestational diabetes diagnosis....

BABY BLOG #9 A question for the LADIES ONLY!

This is for the LADIES ONLY! :o) Just about to enter into my last trimester, wow...how time flies! Lots of things go through your mind during this time like making sure you are all ready for child-birth. I do have a personal question for all of you...IF you feel like sharing your thoughts. Breastfeeding OR bottle-feeding? I realize this is a personal decision but I'm curious as to what the majority of you did or currently do. No judgment here either way because I feel like as Mommies AND as women we should all support each other and our choices. Anyway, because of my experience with lovely Breast Cancer, let's just say, MY choice has somewhat been made for me or "limited" if you will, as I only have a "half" option when it comes to breastfeeding. lol (Get the picture?!) Soooo, while my hope is to ...

BABY BLOG #8 You spent HOW MUCH on the Nursery?

This question was asked on our Monday Morning Mom Panel the other morning and I totally identified with it too. How much do you spend on your baby's nursery AND what is that one big ticket item that you should be spending money on?

I went back and forth on what I wanted to do design-wise for Luna's nursery. I knew for sure I wanted it to have a romantic Parisian theme because being in Paris for our Honeymoon completely solidified my love for all things Paris and French! I also know one of my favorite colors is pink so that had to be part of the room which worked out nicely since we are having a girl n' all. lol

Upon starting my research, I immediately learned how EXPENSIVE nursery stuff is...cribs, gliders and bedding OH MY! I even started asking a few friends and they shared with me how much they ...

BABY BLOG #7 Baby MUST-HAVE'S...what are they???

Sooooo, here I am again looking for advice from you Mommies and Daddies. My daughter will be seven on the 22nd of this month so obviously, it's been a little while since I was pregnant with her. :o) I love seeing how things have changed in the last seven years but I have to be honest, I feel a little out of the loop. Since it has been over seven years and I kept nothing from my first pregnancy, my sweet friends have so kindly and generously offered to throw me a baby shower. (I love my girls!) I started a registry but by golly, I really feel like there is so much I need to register for but feel kind of like I am stuck. This is where you come in. If there is one (or even two-three) products that you would definitely consider "must-have's" for your baby...I need ...

BABY BLOG #6 Help...baby stroller advice needed!

BABY STROLLERS!!! Goodness gracious, there a TON of baby strollers out there! Unfortunately, after my daughter Lily was born, I gave away almost every single baby thing I owned. Boooooo! Anyway, so now I am back to square one and my, how things have changed. When Lily was born, I remember dreaming of the Bugaboo stroller. I used to call it the Porsche of strollers and boy, did I want one but I just couldn't really wrap my brain around spending $700 on a stroller. It seems now there are even cooler and fancier strollers around and even more expensive! So that is where you guys come in. I am going to need your help with advice on certain baby products. Let's start with baby strollers this week! What stroller do you have that you absolutely LOOOOVE? Right now, I am totally in luuurve with this Orbit ...

BABY BLOG #5 It's a __________!

With all of the craziness and challenges the last few weeks have brought, it's wonderful to be able to focus on something good like we are having another GIRL! Yay! I am twenty weeks now and feeling much better than I have been feeling. Thanks to all of you for your recent suggestions on how to combat nausea. I am still beyond exhausted beyond belief but at least the nausea, for the most part, has subsided. As some of you may know, I just lost my sweet Daddy. This was a difficult and sad loss. My poor Father had been pretty sick on and off for the last two years and it has been heart-breaking watching him suffer. In the last month while hospitalized, he also started to suffer from dementia. This made it pretty difficult for him to communicate with anyone other than my mom because he was ...

Baby Blog #4 "Epidural vs no meds"

Epidural vs no medicationThis was the question posed to the Monday Morning Mom Panel yesterdayon the show. So obviously it got me to thinking about my own deliverythis October. When I had my first child Lily, I tried to wait it outa little while to see if I could maybe make it without medicine, but then I got soparanoid it was going to hurt I asked for the Epidural. LolSoooooooo anyway, here I am again thinking about what I want to do this timearound and I thought I would get your thoughts. Did you have anEpidural? Are you glad you did?
